Nominations for the Suncoast Chapter board are currently open through July 17.Members are invited to nominate themselves or another member who is interested in helping shape the future of the chapter.The next phase will begin after nominations close, as nominees are reviewed and the election process moves forward.Our goal is to build a stronger, more active chapter through better events, education, community partnerships, conservation efforts, and meaningful member involvement.More updates will be shared as the process continues.


Board members play an active role in helping the Suncoast Chapter grow, stay organized, and better serve our members and the community.The next board will help guide the chapter’s direction through events, education, outreach, partnerships, conservation efforts, and member engagement.Nominations are currently open through July 17. As we move toward the next phase, our focus is on building a working board that is ready to communicate, collaborate, follow through, and bring fresh ideas to life.
Board members may help:

  • Plan and support chapter events, programs, and plant sales

  • Help create educational opportunities for the community

  • Support volunteers and strengthen member involvement

  • Build partnerships with local organizations and conservation groups

  • Improve chapter communication, organization, and follow-through

  • Bring ideas forward — and help turn them into action


The Suncoast Chapter has an opportunity to reset, rebuild, and grow into something stronger.Nominations are currently open through July 17. Members are invited to step forward and help shape the next phase of the chapter.This chapter needs more than titles. It needs clear communication, follow-through, shared responsibility, and people who are willing to help bring events, education, outreach, and community involvement back to life.

Nominations for the Suncoast Chapter board are currently open through July 17.The next phase of the process will include nominee review, candidate interviews, final slate preparation, and an online election by the chapter membership.Open board positions include:• President
• Vice President
• Chapter Representative
• Director at Large
• Treasurer
• Secretary
Commitment:
Attend at least 80% of chapter and board meetings
Approximately 8 hours per month is typical
Note:
Candidates are voted in by the chapter membership. Once elected, board positions (President, Vice President, etc.) are determined internally by the newly formed board based on interest and strengths.
This approach differs from traditional role-based elections and may be updated in future bylaw revisions.
