We’re accepting nominations for a new board for the Suncoast Chapter in Tampa. We’re looking for people ready to step up and lead.This is an opportunity to shape the future of the chapter through events, education, and real community impact.No prior board experience required—just a willingness to show up, contribute, and follow through.
Board members play an active role in shaping the direction of the chapter—from planning events to supporting volunteers and growing our presence in the community.This isn’t just about helping—it’s about stepping into leadership.
Plan and organize chapter events and plant sales
Support and guide volunteers during outreach and programs
Help create educational experiences for the community
Assist with chapter operations and communication
Bring ideas forward—and help bring them to life

No plant expertise required. We’re looking for people who are reliable, collaborative, and ready to contribute.
Our chapter has an opportunity to reset and grow into something stronger—but that only happens with the right people in place.This isn’t just about volunteering.

You may nominate yourself or someone else (with their approval). Open board positions include:• President

• Treasurer
• SecretaryCommitment:
Attend at least 80% of chapter and board meetings

Board selectionNote:
Candidates are voted in by the chapter membership. Once elected, board positions (President, Vice President, etc.) are determined internally by the newly formed board based on interest and strengths.This approach differs from traditional role-based elections and may be updated in future bylaw revisions.
